A shower that drips, will not get hot, or swings from hot to cold is more than annoying. It wastes water and can hide a leak behind the wall. Plumber On Demand repairs shower valves, cartridges, heads and drains across Ontario so your shower works the way it should.
Shower problems we fix
- Dripping shower heads and tub spouts caused by worn cartridges or washers
- Temperature swings from a failing pressure balancing or thermostatic valve
- No hot water in the shower only often a stuck or worn cartridge
- Low shower pressure from build-up in the head or valve
- Leaks behind the wall at the valve body or shower arm
- Slow or clogged shower drains from hair and soap build-up
Valve and cartridge repair
Most shower problems come from the valve behind the handle. We identify the brand and valve type, replace the cartridge or internal parts, and test both temperature and flow. When the valve is too old or parts are no longer made, we can replace the valve and trim with a modern pressure balancing valve that protects against sudden temperature changes.
Leaks you cannot see
A stain on the ceiling below a bathroom, loose tiles or a soft wall near the shower can mean water is getting behind the surround. We find the source, whether it is the valve, the drain or the shower arm, so the repair stops the leak before it damages the structure.
Shower drains
Water pooling around your feet usually means a hair clog in the drain. We clear it properly and can install a drain cover to slow down the next one.
Shower Repair FAQs
Why does my shower keep dripping after I turn it off?
A dripping shower usually means the cartridge or washers inside the valve are worn. Replacing them normally stops the drip.
Why does my shower go cold when someone flushes?
Older valves cannot balance sudden pressure changes. A pressure balancing valve keeps the temperature steady when other fixtures are used.
Can you fix a shower valve without removing tiles?
Usually, yes. Most cartridge and valve repairs are done through the handle opening. Larger valve replacements may need access from behind the wall or a small tile opening.
