A clogged drain or broken toilet can throw off the whole household. Plumber On Demand clears clogged drains, fixes toilet backups and repairs or replaces toilets for homes across Ontario, so your kitchen and bathrooms are back to normal everyday use.
Drain and toilet problems we fix
- Clogged toilets that will not flush or keep backing up
- Running toilets that waste water and drive up your bill
- Leaking toilets at the base, tank or supply line
- Clogged kitchen sinks from grease, food waste and soap build-up
- Slow bathroom drains in sinks, tubs and showers caused by hair and soap
- Basement floor drain backups and drains that gurgle or smell
Drain cleaning that lasts
A plunger or store-bought drain cleaner can move a clog, but it rarely removes what caused it. We clear the line with the right drain snake for the fixture and pipe size, then run water to confirm full flow. For kitchen drains, that means cutting through grease that coats the pipe walls, not just poking a hole in the clog so it comes back next month.
If the same drain keeps clogging, or several fixtures back up at once, the problem may be further down the line. A drain camera inspection shows roots, sags, cracks or offsets so the repair matches what is actually in the pipe. See our drain services page for camera inspections and drain repair.
Toilet repair and replacement
Most toilet problems come down to a few parts: the flapper, fill valve, flush valve, wax ring or supply line. We repair these when the toilet is in good shape, which is usually quick and affordable. When a toilet is cracked, constantly clogging or simply old and inefficient, replacing it with a modern low-flow model can save water and end the repeat calls.
Signs it is time to call a plumber
- More than one drain is slow or backing up at the same time
- Water comes up in the tub or floor drain when you flush
- You smell sewer gas in the basement or bathroom
- The toilet runs on its own or you hear it refilling between uses
- Water collects around the base of the toilet
Drain and Toilet Repair FAQs
Should I use chemical drain cleaner on a clog?
We recommend avoiding it. Chemical drain cleaners can damage older pipes and often only clear part of the clog. If a plunger does not work, a plumber can clear the line safely and fully.
Why does my toilet keep running?
A running toilet is usually caused by a worn flapper, a faulty fill valve or a chain that is too short or too long. These are common, quick repairs.
Why are several drains in my house backing up at once?
When multiple fixtures back up together, the blockage is usually in the main drain line rather than at one fixture. This needs to be cleared from the main line, and a camera inspection can show the cause.
Do you replace toilets?
Yes. We remove the old toilet, install the new one with a fresh seal and supply line, and test it for leaks. We can also recommend efficient low-flow models.
